Tories still leading in Manitoba, recent poll finds
December 07, 2010
WINNIPEG -- The Progressive Conservatives continue to lead opinion polls with less than a year to go before a provincial election, but the ruling NDP party is gaining. Conservatives lead by nine percentage points in the latest Angus Reid Opinion Poll. However, the NDP has gained three points at the Conservative Party’s expense since September. The poll found 46 per cent of those surveyed said they would vote for a PC candidate if the election was held tomorrow. The NDP garnered 37 per cent of support and the Liberals received 13 per cent. The Green Party received support from four per cent of those surveyed, while one per cent indicated they would vote for another party. As well, 54 per cent of those polled want a different party to form the next provincial government. The poll was taken from Nov. 8 to Nov. 15 during an online survey among 800 randomly selected Manitoban adults who are Angus Reid Forum panelists. The margin of error is +/- 3.5 per cent.
