
Minister of Veterans Affairs Honours Exceptional Canadians from Western Canada

June 12, 2010 Winnipeg ― Eleven citizens from western provinces and territories were honoured today for their commitment and dedication to Veterans. The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Minister of State (Agriculture), decorated these individuals with the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation for 2010 during a ceremony in Winnipeg. "While many might be quick to speak about the importance of volunteerism, the individuals being commended today have made it their reality," said Minister Blackburn. "This is truly what makes them special … their willingness to act and help." |
