The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Minister of State (Agriculture), decorated these individuals with the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation for 2010 during a ceremony in Winnipeg.

"While many might be quick to speak about the importance of volunteerism, the individuals being commended today have made it their reality," said Minister Blackburn. "This is truly what makes them special … their willingness to act and help."
Minister Blackburn presented the Commendation to the following recipients:

Janet Bennett, Saskatoon, SK
Gilles Grossinger, Whitehorse, YT
